Self-esteem is our overall opinion of ourselves—how we feel about our abilities and limitations.
🔸It is shaped by our thoughts, relationships and experiences.
Healthy self esteem is vital to a happy and fulfilling life.
Self esteem does affect how we
Think
Feel – Emotionally & physically
and
Behave.
🔆How low self esteem affects our day to day life🔆
🔸People with low self esteem often suffer in their relationships. 😣
🔸They find it difficult to assert themselves and say ‘ NO ‘- They are either passive or aggresive .
🔸People with low self esteem often feel themselves unworthy, incapable, and incompetent. Which can affect them in two ways.
They either avoid taking risks, or try to become perfectionist- doing more then they can, and end up feeling emotionally and physically drained.
🔸They cannot express their feelings, state their opinions, thoughts and beliefs clearly and positively, they are unable to set healthy boundaries and value their own needs.
People often take advantage of them – It leads to frustration, anxiety and agression .
🔸Self esteem interferes profoundly with one’s ability to lead a successful life .
🔸People with low self esteem may not fulfil their true potential in life.
🔸They cannot set effective goals, even if they do one, they face challenges to achieve it, because they lack that inner motivation and consistency.
🔸People with low self esteem cannot handle criticism. They take it on face value, because of the negative beliefs and opinions they have in dark regions of their memory about themselves. They end up feeling disappointed from others. Thus they cannot have healthy relationships with people.
Self esteem is a state of mind, and it can be changed by consistently and constantly challenging your thoughts, taking part in constructive activities and seeking support of people who can guide and motivate you.
